*Dramatic sigh*

I just love her -

"Fiddle Dee Dee!"

I want this to be the basis for my life - eating barbecue, surrounded by doting admirers and wearing a ridiculous hat.

Change is good.

I've come to a decision. A decision that will affect all of us and hopefully make the world a better place. I thought long and hard about it last night. I cried a bit, I got angry, I talked it out with my Beanie Babies and they gave me some sound advice for which I will be eternally grateful, and now, finally, I have made up my mind that...

"Go on, tell them, you know it's the right thing to do..." says the Beanie Baby Council.

....the name of the blog must change.

Now don't be upset; "Alice Bands, Mary Janes and the bits in between", was good, but let's be honest it was just a bit too long, and it was about as catchy as a flaming cheetah (you ever tried to catch one of those? Not catchy at all...).

So from now on, the name is simply "The Little Curly Girl", as that's already the URL address anyway, and I figured it was easier to remember.

This does, however, mean that I need a new picture. I was originally thinking about a kind of collage-type thing of black and white pictures of me wearing different kinds of headwear and pulling stupid faces, but I've gone off that idea now.

I'm leaning towards a drawing, rather than a photo, maybe some kind of cartoon involving a little girl with curly hair, in a fashion-related scenario? I'm open to suggestions anyway - watch this space.

Yes?

....No.

The beginning of something beautiful...

My last exam was on Saturday which means I've officially finished my degree!!!

Now that that's over and done with, I can focus on more important things, such as this blog (and catching up on my stories...when I say stories I mean like Ugly Betty and Heroes, not like Jack and the Beanstalk and The Little Engine That Could).
I've finally made a banner, which you should be able to see in all it's glory above. Please note, I don't pretend to be a graphics wiz in any way - if you feel that you could design a better one, please do! But we'll be sticking with my collage for now :)

This is just a quick message really to say that from now on, posts should be A LOT more frequent, as I'm hoping for this blog to become your number one stop for general fashion wonderment and glory...

It's going to be special!

Getting Shirt-y

Do you know what I hate?

Pigeons? Why yes, you're right, but that's besides the point.

Those tops that are actually two tops in one. You know like when you get jumpers that appear to have a shirt underneath them when really it’s just the collar of a shirt sewn underneath. Now which bright spark thought that one up? I can just see someone on a design team sat there praising themselves for their ingenious idea “Oh how clever I am, everyone will think it’s a real shirt AND a real jumper when really it’s all one garment!”
I’m not sure exactly why they annoy me so much, it might just be the sheer laziness of combining two items rather than taking the time and effort to actually find two separate tops which go well together. It just takes a bit of the fun out of getting dressed (for me, every trip to my wardrobe is a new adventure – usually because getting across the obstacle course that masquerades as my bedroom is like something out of Raiders of the Lost Arc). That and the fact that having worked in a clothes store, I know first-hand that those shirt-under-jumper things, like other monstrosities such as dresses with two layers and cardigans with strappy vests attached, make your life ten times more difficult when trying to hang them up!

Oh my goodness, OH MY GOODNESS!

So I'm having a bit of a panic.

I'm currently a costume-type person for MTW's (ie Music Theatre Warwick - the musical society at uni) production of Copacabana and I'm having a crisis. I've got to have everything ready by Tuesday for the dress rehearsal (which actually might be Monday, I'm not certain) and the white bras which I was meant to be dying red for the devil costumes have gone a very pale shade of pink, I've not found a pair of men's leather knee boots and the surplus army supplies shop is always closed which means I've still not gotten hold of the army coats I was meant to have weeks ago.

So basically I'm screwed with a capital screwdriver.

SHIT. I may have to take the day off uni tomorrow to go into town and buy more stuff/beg the kind man in the haberdashery to advise me on dyes.
This is the last time I'm doing costumes. I can't be trusted.
